This includes, but is not limit to, conducting trawl surveys on board fishing vessels, using optical and acoustic methods to assess the behavior and distribution of fish around wind farm turbines or similar structures. Additionally, the candidate will develop novel observational and analytical methods to evaluate the impact of wind farm on fish, fisheries and ecosystem. The applicant must be able to perform duties on fishing and/or research vessels for up to 10 days at sea. The candidate will act as lead field scientist for field research related to trawl surveys and optical/acoustic monitoring.  The successful candidate will be expected to act as a major research scientist managing related projects and supervise research assistants, graduate and undergraduate students, and temporary staff while conducting work in the field and in the lab. The candidate will develop and prepare research proposals, write project reports, and prepare manuscript for publication. This position involves interacting with fishers, offshore wind farm industry, funding agencies and collaborators.
